Between Lines

I'm honoured to be an animator on Between Lines. Not only because the message of the film was so impactful but also because Sarah Beth Morgan did an incredible job collecting together a team of women to work on it. I got to work with and learn from some top notch animators who I really admire all while creating something beautiful.

The Sleepover

This shot was big one as it was the first time we see the main character and establish the doubt in her mind about the intentions of her friends. Rachel Reid provided the rough which set a lot of the timing and emotion in this scene. I cleaned it up firstly in Abode Animate CC with block colours then moved into Adobe After Effects to mask in and animate the textures. Smaller details like facial expressions and fingers I did frame-by-frame in Photoshop.

The Cafeteria

I was able to clean up this shot much faster as there was only the one character here rather than three! I also did my colour blocking in After Effects and was able to work a lot faster.

The Bubbles

I animated one of the bubbles in the foreground of the sleepover shot as is seeps up through the floor and pops as the girls make eye contact. The team liked my approach with the style and symbolism so it was used in many other shots throughout the film."Out of trauma, blooms a sense of healing and connection."
